If you’re a regular coffee drinker, this question has probably crossed your mind at one point in time. If you’re a constant worrier like I am, then it may cross your mind just about every day.

Caffeine can boost our energy levels like nothing else when we’re feeling weary, and its taste really grows on you. That would explain why there are hundreds of millions of coffee drinkers in the world.

Numerous studies have shown the positive effects coffee can have on our mental agility, focus and productivity. If you would like to improve your performance at work, then get your hands on a cup of coffee!

It’s clear, then, that coffee has a positive effect on the way the brain functions. However, there are differing opinions as to whether coffee is good for the body as a whole. Some say it’s harmless, whereas others are convinced it can’t be beneficial.

Research has shown that coffee might raise blood pressure levels, and even heart rates, over time. Many people are alarmed by this idea.

However, the same studies explain that this would only happen when people consumed large doses of caffeine on a very regular basis. One cup of coffee a day is not likely to create any adverse effects.

Then, of course, we have the beneficial effects of the antioxidants in coffee. Studies have shown that they offer a line of defense against the development of diseases such as cancer. This is not hard to believe when we consider that coffee is natural. The same qualities are also to be found in red wine, another natural product.

The safest course of action is to drink coffee in moderation. It’s a strong stimulant and we should be careful not to overdo it, especially once the aging process has taken hold. Savor the odd cup of coffee as a special treat.
